Climate

Due it's substantial distance from the Equator and the North Pole, the Boreal Forest is usually chilly and cold all year round. Most of the Boreal forests' precipitation is snow. The winters in the Boreal forest are long and cold; around six months long with the average temperature below freezing. The summers are usually cool and short, but always burst out from the beautiful spring scenery before them, verything transformed from totally white to amazing shades of green and colours from the wildflowers that blossom during spring. 

 

 

The Taiga stretches all across the Northern

Hemisphere, but the main countries that it 

can be found in are Russia, Canada and 

Alaska. Other countries that it can be found 

in include Finland, Iceland, small parts of

Japan, Mongolia, Norway, Sweden and the

Compared to the desert biome, there are many differences between it and the Boreal forest. 'Desert' is the name given to an area that has the least amount of precipitation each year. so this is a major difference, seeing as the Boreal forest has large amounts of snowfall each year. Many deserts are hot, and this is something that the Boreal forest is not. However, since a desert is a place that has the least amount of precipitation each year, this means that the freezing cold Antarctica is the largest desert in the world. Hot deserts also have a very diffent range of animals, mainly reptiles, who need the undisturbed heat to keep warm. Whereas the Boreal forest has mainly mammals. The world needs these different climates to balance each other out and to create the perfect world for human life. But now that we are slowly destroying these climates, mainly by means of global warming, the world is slowly losing these climates that are home to other species of animals as well.
